Hospitality and Tourism Management Program I is course introduces the hospitality and tourism industry on a global scale with a large focus on diversity.
Foods and Nutrition 1
This course is an instructional program that prepares individuals to understand the principles of nutrition; the relationship of nutrition to health and wellness; the selection, preparation and care of the food.
Child Development I
This course is an instructional program that prepares individuals to understand and describe the diverse roles in parenting along with learning about the prenatal development of a child.
Career Dev. & Entrepreneurship
Career Development and Entrepreneurship class is to assist students in preparing for success in their future.
Child Development II
This course is an instructional program that prepares individuals to understand children’s physical, mental, emotional, and social growth and development, as well as their care and guidance. The program draws on aspects of social and biological sciences of which Family and Consumer Sciences are a component. Observation and actual experience with children and their parents are integral parts of the program.
This course is an instructional program that prepares individuals to understand the principles of nutrition; the relationship of nutrition to health & wellness; the selection, preparation and care of the food; meal management to meet individual food needs & patterns of living, & optimal use of the food dollar. It also,emphasizes variety in food preparation, techniques, diet in health and illness, experimentation in meal patterns, & and the significance of food as relates to various cultures
Personal Finance is a semester - long course introducing students to various concepts associated with personal finance. The course is geared toward practical knowledge that is necessary for financial decision making in everyday life. This course will assist students in exploring careers, budgeting, managing finances, investing and saving, using credit wisely, making informed decisions on housing, automobiles and insurance as well as help students understand basic consumer rights.
This course prepares individuals to understand the physical, psychological and social influences pertaining to complex housing decisions required for creating a desirable living environment. It includes instruction in the human and environmental factors influencing the form and use of housing, the varied types of housing, cost, exterior and interior design, home furnishings and equipment, and the selection, use/care of available resources for achieving improved living space.
